So I posted in my Master Key Blog about a positive mental attitude and the effect of greeting each day with love in my heart. I wanted to share those thoughts here too.
The love in my heart bit maybe sounds a little mushy for the old biologist turned entrepreneur, but it really isn’t out of the ordinary because I’ve learned a thing or two over the years.
I know that a negative attitude toward others can never bring me success. In fact, I know that a negative attitude toward anything at all, is counter-productive.
If you have read Think and Grow Rich you may know that item 5 of the Confidence Builder indicates “I eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness and cynicism by developing love for all humanity because a negative atitude toward others can never bring me success“.
While this need not and perhaps should not, be taken literally in its entirety, the principle I think is very true.
Harboring such negative feelings with regard to others will not get you anything but more angst.
Think negative thoughts and you’ll get corresponding results.
Didn’t need Napoleon Hill or Charles Haanel or Og Mandino (look them up) to tell me that. But a reminder now and then really helps.
The Universe responds to the predominant thoughts held in your mind. If you want health, wealth, love and all success, think about those things all day long.
Having a positive mental attitude as you start your day and habitually looking for the good in everyone and every situation……
will do wonders for your relationships and for the degree of success you have.
The old saying “every cloud has a silver lining” is brought to mind from another little book you might want to get your hands on; The Greatest Salesman In The World by Og Mandino.
In the Scroll Marked II, he begins with “I greet this day with love in my heart” and goes on to say “I love the sun for it warms my bones yet I love the rain for it cleanses my spirit“.
The lessons are timeless. Look for the good in all people and in what they do. You will find it if you look for it.
One of the greatest teachers said “Seek and ye shall find.” We often think of that as we strive for success in business or any goal in our own lives. But it applies to all good things in you and in others. Expect the best and you’ll get it.
The opposite is also true.
Take this attitude toward your day, make a habit of it and it becomes a way of life.
Your positive mental attitude and kindness will rub off on others and you’ll be amazed at how those around you will respond in kind.
Seek not to criticize, but to encourage and praise. You’ll find much to be happy about and thankful for.
As Mandino says “only the unseen power of love can open the hearts of men and until I master this art I will remain only a peddler in the market place“.
He is referring to making a habit of greeting each day and all with whom he comes in contact, with love in his heart.
You want to get rich? Think about it all day long and look for the good and lovable in everyone you meet. You’ll find it all.
