Five Ways To Practice Kindness and be Grateful

We are deep into the Franklin Makeover with the Master Key Experience this week. All are on the lookout for acts of kindness and on a mission to practice kindness themselves.

To me showing or practicing kindness is as much a benefit to me as it is to the recipients. It’s simply a matter of putting into motion the Law of Giving and Receiving; give more get more. To show kindness is to practice gratitude. Gratitude is a cause and give more get more applies here as well.

Practice Kindness

The ways in which one can practice kindness are infinite and all return to you things for which you can be grateful. You’ll see the parallels in these examples of ways to practice gratitude as each is a kindness delivered:

  • Tell someone you love them and how much you appreciate them
  • Smile more often at those you meet
  • Keep a list of good friends you see infrequently and call them often just to say hello
  • Take note when anyone does a good job at anything and tell them you noticed
  • Stop and chat with an elderly neighbor and tell them how grateful you are to have them in your life

Upon reflection it occurs to me the kindest thing you can do for others is to forgive. Most of us harbours resentments and anger directed at people and events in our past. Sometimes these are extremely painful and debilitating leading to health problems, discord and disruption in our lives.

Escape By Forgiving

Many deaden the pain with alcohol or drugs which leads to more discord, disruption and lack of success at lifes endeavours. The result is more pain and a never ending spiral of despair. Happiness and harmony cannot be achieved with an unforgiving attitude.

For me the release was forgiveness. I forgave all who wronged me and silently aksed their forgiveness for the anger I directed at them. And good things began to slowly pervade my life. My acts of forgiving are the kindest things I could ever do for myself.

And I am grateful for having made the commitment to forgive. That has brought me more things to be grateful for. Any act of kindness will return to me in like form. and that will add to the mountain of things for which I can be grateful

It works the same way for you.

May the Power Be Yours,

Practice Kindness
